Hello and welcome to the home page of Tom Taylor Photography. This page is here to display a very small portion of the photographs I have taken since receiving my first camera for Christmas, 1986 (a Canon AE-1 Program). With the exception of the wedding photography, the majority of the work you see here was taken within the last six or seven years. Many of these photographs are from scans of negatives or prints. Because of this, the quality is not as high as you may expect. This is simply a result of the lesser technology in use at the time. Since 2003, I have shot almost exclusively digital. For four years I published Edge Magazine, an entertainment magazine in NC. Several years before starting the magazine, I began shooting live bands - both local acts and national acts. This love was the initial motivation behind Edge. Around the same time, I began photographing amateur models. Like most photographers, I began photographing friends and progressed to people I would meet in other areas of my life. Eventually, people began hiring me to photograph them. I shot my first wedding in 1990 and, since that time, have shot countless weddings. Since I was already shooting professionally, I decided to go to school for photography and received a photography degree in 1997. On this site, you will see a little bit of everything I shoot. From bands to models to sports to scenics to pieces from a number of incomplete portfolios I started over the years. This site is much like those number of portfolios I have started over the years - VERY incomplete. I have, however, started a photo journal. To anyone who knows me, you know I am not a big fan of online journals. But, I am hoping to use this as a way to force myself to shoot more. It is easy to get caught up in life and work, and forget to have fun sometimes. If you would like to view my photo journal, please go HERE.
